Ford Maverick Tire Size Chart By Trim & Year: 2022-2026
The Ford Maverick tire size chart starts with 225/65R17 for most standard XL and XLT configurations. Other factory sizes include 225/60R18 on earlier Lariat models, 225/55R19 on newer Lariat and Lobo models, and 235/65R17 on Tremor-equipped trucks.
Your Maverick’s model year, trim, and factory wheel package determine its original tire size. An XLT with an appearance package can use a different size from a standard XLT of the same year. Use the chart below to identify the factory fitment, then confirm it against the Tire and Loading Information label on your driver’s door opening before ordering replacements.

A/S means all-season; A/T means all-terrain. The early-year tables include less-common configurations because a trim badge alone does not establish which wheels were installed. This chart describes road tires, not temporary or conventional spares, which may carry different size markings.
Which Factory Tires Fit 2022 to 2024 Mavericks
The 2022–2024 Maverick commonly uses 17-inch tires on XL and XLT models and 18-inch tires on the standard Lariat. Optional wheels and off-road equipment introduce other sizes, so owners should match the full tire code rather than simply shopping by trim.
Standard XL and XLT Tires
The standard tire size for a 2022, 2023, or 2024 Maverick XL is 225/65R17. The standard XLT also uses 225/65R17, fitted to 17-inch wheels.
This basic size appears on Hybrid and EcoBoost configurations. The powertrain name alone does not tell you whether an XLT has retained its original wheels or received an optional setup.
Lariat and Optional Wheels
A standard early Lariat generally carries 225/60R18 tires on 18-inch wheels. Certain original 17-inch configurations appear in tire-manufacturer fitment records as 225/65R17 or 235/65R17.
The 2023 and 2024 XLT also had available 18-inch equipment using 225/60R18. That is why two Mavericks of the same model year may legitimately have different factory-sized tires.
For a historical cross-check, Goodyear’s 2022 Maverick fitment listing shows the standard and optional 17-inch and 18-inch size combinations. Its 2024 Maverick XLT listing identifies 225/65R17, 225/60R18, and 235/65R17 as equipment-dependent fits.
FX4 and Tremor Packages
An FX4 package adds an off-road-oriented tire specification, but FX4 is not the same as Tremor. Earlier FX4 setups used 17-inch all-terrain equipment, while some optional aggressive all-terrain configurations used 235/65R17.
The Maverick Tremor package arrived for the 2023 model year on eligible XLT and Lariat trucks. Its factory tire was 235/65R17 all-terrain on distinctive 17-inch wheels. There was no 2022 Maverick Tremor package to look up.
What Changed for 2025 and 2026 Maverick Tires
The biggest tire-size change in the 2025 refresh was the move to 19-inch wheels and 225/55R19 tires for the Lariat, alongside the introduction of the Lobo. The Tremor also became its own model rather than simply an available package on XLT and Lariat.
Standard XL and XLT Tires
For both 2025 and 2026, a standard Maverick XL or XLT uses 225/65R17 all-season tires. That remains the starting point whether the eligible XL or XLT configuration has a Hybrid or EcoBoost powertrain.
An XLT with the FX4 Off-Road Package retains the 225/65R17 dimensions but uses all-terrain tires. The size is unchanged, even though the intended tread application differs.
An XLT with the Black Appearance Package can instead use 225/55R19 tires on 19-inch wheels. Do not use the standard XLT size for this package without checking the truck’s label.
Lariat and Lobo Tires
The 2025 and 2026 Lariat use 225/55R19 tires as standard equipment. The Lobo, introduced for 2025, uses the same nominal tire size on its own 19-inch wheel design.
The wheel styling and driving character differ, but the standard tire-size code is identical. If you’re comparing their wider equipment differences, FordMasterX’s Maverick trim levels comparison chart covers the model configurations without turning this tire reference into a trim buying guide.
Tremor and FX4 Tires
The 2025 and 2026 Tremor uses 235/65R17 all-terrain tires. That makes its factory size different from the XLT FX4’s 225/65R17 all-terrain tires, despite both having 17-inch wheels.
Ford’s 2025 Maverick technical specification sheet explicitly separates the standard, FX4, Tremor, Lariat, and Lobo tire configurations. The 2026 Maverick XLT equipment listing also confirms 225/65R17 all-season, optional 225/65R17 all-terrain, and optional 225/55R19 fitments.
How to Verify Your Ford Maverick Tire Size
The driver’s-side Tire and Loading Information label is the deciding reference for the tire size and cold inflation pressure originally specified for your Maverick. Check it before paying for a replacement set.
- Open the driver’s door. Look for the tire label on the door edge or B-pillar, the body section beside the seat belt.
- Read the front and rear tire specifications. Record the complete code, such as
225/65R17, plus the recommended cold pressures. - Compare the tire sidewall. Look for the matching size code on the tires currently fitted. A mismatch could mean the wheels or tires were changed by a previous owner.
- Check the wheel and tire requirements. When replacing a tire, verify the wheel diameter, load index, speed rating, and any other requirements for your truck.
If the fitted tires differ from the door label, do not assume they are automatically unsafe or approved. Have a qualified tire professional confirm the installation, load capacity, clearances, and suitable operating pressure.
What the 4 Maverick Tire Size Codes Mean

The code 225/65R17 describes dimensions and construction, not a tire’s brand or tread pattern. Read it this way:
- 225 is the nominal section width in millimeters.
- 65 is the aspect ratio: the sidewall height is 65% of the nominal width.
- R identifies radial tire construction.
- 17 identifies the wheel diameter in inches.
The four main factory codes are similar in overall outside diameter even though they fit different wheel sizes:
| Tire Code | Nominal Width | Wheel Diameter | Calculated Overall Diameter |
|---|---|---|---|
| 225/65R17 | 225 mm | 17 in. | 28.52 in. |
| 225/60R18 | 225 mm | 18 in. | 28.63 in. |
| 225/55R19 | 225 mm | 19 in. | 28.74 in. |
| 235/65R17 | 235 mm | 17 in. | 29.03 in. |
These diameters are mathematical estimates from the size markings, not measured values for a specific tire model. Actual dimensions can vary with tire construction, rim width, wear, and manufacturer.
A nearly matching outside diameter does not make two tire sizes interchangeable. A 19-inch tire needs a 19-inch wheel; it cannot be mounted on a 17-inch wheel. Load index, speed rating, and vehicle fitment still have to match the intended application.
Can Larger Tires Fit a Stock Ford Maverick
Some owners install larger-than-original tires on a stock Maverick, but there is no single maximum upgrade size that is guaranteed to fit every trim. Clearance depends on the tire’s actual dimensions, wheel width and offset, suspension configuration, and the space available while turning and driving over bumps.
The Tremor’s factory 235/65R17 setup is not automatic proof that a standard XL or XLT can use the same tire with every original wheel. An aftermarket tire may measure differently from the original equipment despite having the same nominal size.
Before making a change, check clearance at full steering lock, verify load and speed ratings, and consider the effect of a larger rolling diameter on the speedometer and driving systems. If you’re also changing wheels, check the Maverick’s 5×108 mm mounting pattern using our Ford bolt pattern chart. Bolt pattern is only one part of wheel fitment; center bore, offset, hardware, and brake clearance matter too.
What PSI Should Ford Maverick Tires Use
Use the cold tire inflation pressure printed on your own Maverick’s driver-door label, not the maximum pressure molded into the tire sidewall. The correct number can depend on the original tire configuration and model year.
As a reference, common 2025 configurations listed by FordMasterX include 35 PSI front and rear for 225/65R17 and 235/65R17 setups, and 36 PSI front and rear for the 225/55R19 package. These examples are not a substitute for your truck’s placard, particularly if its tires or wheels have been changed.
Our dedicated Ford tire pressure chart by model and tire size explains these configuration differences in more detail. Check pressure when the tires are cold and investigate a tire-pressure warning rather than clearing it without checking the tires.
Which Ford Maverick Factory Size Is Right for You
The Ford Maverick tire size chart comes down to matching the truck’s model year, trim, and equipment package. Most standard XL and XLT models use 225/65R17. Earlier Lariat trucks commonly use 225/60R18, while 2025–2026 Lariat and Lobo models use 225/55R19. Tremor configurations use 235/65R17 all-terrain tires.
The differences matter most when a truck has optional wheels, an FX4 or Tremor package, or an appearance package. A tire code found on another Maverick might not apply to yours.
Before ordering replacements, compare the year-specific chart with your driver’s-door label. Then match the full tire code, load rating, speed rating, and wheel diameter rather than shopping by trim name alone.
Five Ford Maverick Tire Size Questions Answered
What Size Tires Come on a Ford Maverick XL?
The standard Ford Maverick XL uses 225/65R17 tires throughout the 2022–2026 model years covered here. That is a 17-inch wheel fitment. Confirm the door label if you’re buying a used truck or if the original wheels may have been changed.
What Tire Size Does the Ford Maverick Hybrid Use?
Most standard Maverick Hybrid XL and XLT configurations use 225/65R17 tires. A 2025–2026 Hybrid Lariat uses 225/55R19, and an appropriately equipped XLT with the Black Appearance Package can also use 19-inch tires. Match the year and trim rather than assuming all Hybrids use one size.
What Size Tires Come on a Ford Maverick Tremor?
The 2023–2024 Tremor Off-Road Package and 2025–2026 Tremor model use 235/65R17 all-terrain tires on 17-inch wheels. Tremor equipment was introduced for the 2023 model year. Its tire size should not be confused with the 225/65R17 all-terrain size found on later FX4-equipped XLT models.
Does the 2025 Ford Maverick Use Different Tires Than the 2024?
Yes, for some trims. The standard Lariat changed from 225/60R18 on the 2024 model to 225/55R19 on the 2025 model. The 2025 Lobo also uses 225/55R19, while standard XL and XLT configurations retain 225/65R17. Special packages still need an individual fitment check.
Can I Put 235/65R17 Tires on a Standard Maverick?
A 235/65R17 tire is factory equipment on Tremor configurations and appears on some earlier optional Maverick setups, but that does not prove universal fitment on every standard XL or XLT. Confirm wheel compatibility, actual tire dimensions, clearance, and load requirements before changing from the door-label specification. A tire shop can verify a proposed upgrade on your exact truck.
